064 - HOW MODI & SHAH POLARISED A NATION,

This is an Opinion Piece based on my understanding of the problem at hand and my own personal beliefs and convictions. No one has to Agree or Disagree. Just my views on Indian Politics Today..in 2020

Why Polarise...?

Polarisation by definition is to "restrict the vibrations of (a transverse wave, especially light) wholly or partially to one direction. Meaning "the light is polarized so that it vibrates in only one plane"

In the Current Context trying to make India "A Hindu Rashtra" is what I see as Polarisation of a country of 1.4 Billion population.

I have personally waged a battle against Corruption in India all my adult life.  Yet Modi supporters call me a Corrupt Congress Supporter. Agree how will anyone know about my background ? So here it is for everyone to read.

My Anti Corruption Journey Follows:

1974

I quit my Job as a Junior Engineer in Tamil nadu Highways Dept in 1976 for one and only one reason. I was not going to take Bribes and let the quality I of work I was incharge of suffer. "Over my Dead Body was my Motto" My Divisional Engineer did not like my Motto, so what did he do, schemed to kill me and throw my Dead Body into the Pamban Sea to be devoured by the sharks. Something I was not aware of.

Three good Samaritans, Muniayya my Peon, Madasamy my Road Inspector and Muthiah my Guest House watchman, who loved me for who I was, as a man, came one night with dinner and spent the night in my bachelor pad at Rameswaram which I found was very unusual and at 4.00am the next morning they quickly packed all my possessions into two suitcases and at 4.30 and  insisted I go to Madras straighway as there is some very bad news which they refused to tell me.

In my mind, some one in my family at Madras had died and I just could not stop worrying and praying. Muthiah took leave at Rameswaram station and Muniayya and Madasamy accompanied me all the way to Ramnad  and put me on an express Bus to Madras city.

It was when we were on the train and had crossed the Pamban Bridge to the main land was I told of the sinister plan to bump me off...

I am "The One That Got Away" One of my early favourites movies starring Hardy Kruger as a school boy

Watch the Movie here if you Wish. to see why it means so much to me

Yes I was the One who got away from Corruption in India against all Odds as my mother was dead against my going overseas. Wanted me stay in India to serve the Nation. I told her "I had served for five years and look at my plight".

I met the Chief Engineer in Madras seeking a transfer back to the city explaining the plot to bump me off. All he said was Go Back to your Post Now as You have come here without leave and without informing your senior officers. He said he would give me a personal Jeep with a Driver and I could report directly to him. But no transfer..

"A man has got to do what a man has to do" to survive in India and that is the Root cause of all Corruption in India.

I pulled strings and the PA to the then Health Minister phoned my Chief Engineer that the Health Minister had instructed a Transfer be given to me immediately. I had to do this to avoid being charge sheeted by crooks with false accusations of embezzlement etc. The next Day I received a call asking me to meet the Chief  Engineer that very afternoon.

I was pretty apprehensive about this meeting. Any way I walked in and the Chief Engineer just uttered one sentence. "Why did you not tell me that You knew the Health Minister before?" I mumbled, Sir I came to see you first. " It appears that if I do not give you an immediate transfer, I might get transferred out of this Project myself".  I could not believe my ears and left the meeting chuckling.

All this in 1974. I continued as Junior Engineer but in the Designs division. It was during this period I was Nicknamed "The Bag Man". I always carried a leather bag full of documents. A bag full of applications to Universities in USA and receipts and admission letters etc. Destiny dragged me to Sydney instead. That is another long story but not relevant here.

Came to Sydney in 1976 and until year 2001 my connections to India were with snail mail and expensive phone call only to family on serious matters. Fortunately or unfortunately there was no FaceBook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram or for that matter even emails or mobile phones. Looking back it sounds like the dark ages. There were no PCs at home as the basic Amstrad was Aud $7500 and too expensive. You could buy a good second hand  car for that price in Sydney then.

As the Millenium dawned on the earth, Internet and Yahoo groups also descended on on the world's population. Before I realised I was part of my IIT Alumni Classmates Yahoo Group. To me it was like rebirthing reconnecting with classmates whom you had lost touch since graduation in 1970, which was 30 long years ago..

Disabled by a Brain Stem Stroke, my millenium gift I call it, I was stuck at home with only my Amstrad PC with a whooping 40 MegaByte Hard disk and 2MB floppy disc drive...I either played chess against the computer or was on yahoo groups 24/7. Every day was a sunday and every hour was the same. I could do anything I wanted any time. Which I always did any way :-). Before I realised I had become an expert in creating and managing yahoo groups and I at one stage was owner or member of 75 yahoo groups of all sorts of interests from Alumni, to school mates, to health.. etc etc etc...

2003

On 27th November 2003, an IIT Alumnus trying to fight Corruption in Indian National Highways was gunned down in cold Blood by Corrupt Officials/Contractors of National Highways.

I was the Lucky IIT Alumnus  who got away but Satyendra Dubey an IIT Kanpur Alumnus took the Bullet.

I had created the IIT Global Alumni Group which has 3500 active members. Ravi Challu the President of IIT Kanpur Assn was a good buddy of mine then and we agreed we needed to act. Satyendra's murder angered us all and we wanted to do something about it. Satyendra's close IIT Kanpur friends started the Satyendra Dubey Yahoo group and this is where I met so many like minded Anti Corruption IIT activists, a Blessing in disguise.

Here is a Write up on Satyendra Dubey if you feel inclined to read.
Click on the Caption above.

Guess who the PM of India was, to whose Office Satyendra Dubey sent his Complaint as a Whistle blower?

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was two time Prime Minister of India, first from 16 May to 1 June 1996, and then from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vajpayee served as the eleventh Prime Minister of India.
My Favourite Neta Atal Vajpayee was  PM in 2003.
Was he to be blamed? NO Sir,

Unfortunately for Dubey the the PM's Office forwarded Dubey's Whistle Blowers letter letter to the very Crooks in the National Highways Department for appropriate action.

In Dec 2003 I felt so angry I took the initiative to start a Public Yahoo Group Called JAGO INDIA to Fight Corruption in India with over 5000 members. (Deleted this Group after Modiji became PM as it was not relevant any more)

2011

2011 Indian anti-corruption movement

I was an active member of the Jan Lok Pal Movement from 2011 and hosted the Jan Lok Pal Blog too (been deleted now after Modi's election as PM.).

Anna Hazare was the next Gandhiji of Modern India we thought.

It was during this period that I connected with Arvind Kejrival an IIT Kgp Alumnus, Somnath Bharti IIT Delhi Alumnus, Kiran Bedi IIT Delhi Alumnus, Varun Arya - IIT Delhi Alumnus, Vickram Crishna IIT Delhi,.

I may not have stayed back India to fight Corruption but have done more than most with the help of just the keyboard, sitting thousands of miles away in Sydney

On 17th  Nov 2014 I was there at Allphones Arena celebrating ModiJi's win and the end of the heinous Corrupt Congress Rule. IMHO Manmohan Singh was the worst ever PM of India. A Rubber stamp at best and it was during his term that Corruption in India was Maximum.

I was very proud to wear the Modi T Shirt and go to the Arena

Entire Nation Celebrated Modijis win in 2014. The country could break away from the Shakles of the Congress Party.

2020

12th Feb 2020 Marks AAP's astounding Victory in Delhi. Winning 62 out of 70 seats BJP 8 and Congress Nil.

12th Feb 2020 is a Day for Celebration for me as an Arvind Kejriwal's Friend ( I do not belong to any political party in India or Australia. Just back my gut feel on issues of National Importance) .

I have a right to feel Happy and Proud that so many Jan Lok Pal Activist friends have won people's hearts. I do not want to Rub it in but watch the following videos following the Delhi Victory if it interests you

I am also celebrating that the Corrupt Congress party did not win even one Seat out of 70. Congress is a Dead Horse. No point beating it any more.

As for BJP and Modiji all I can say is they dug their Own Grave. Cannot Blame any body. It is like an elephant gone mad.

Modiji was the most Popular Indian in 2014 when elected PM. He won the election but did not have the numbers in both houses to formulate new legislations.

When the second term came Modiji  got overwhelming support from a nation that Believed in Him as an Individual. It was he who got the votes not the BJP party as misunderstood by many BJP supporters. People did not vote for Amit Shah either. Just for Modiji.

At the National Elections in 2019, BJP won 303 / 543 votes and NDA got  353/ 543 votes

Rajya Sabha
The Rajya Sabha has 245 MPs, of which 241 are elected and four are nominated. At present, the BJP and its allies have 102 members in the Rajya Sabha 20 seats short of a simple majority. How will the BJP get these additional 20 seats? ( India Today )

Political Misconception and Misinterpretations

Poltical Parties in all democracies get carried away when they win an election, assuming people Voted for Them or their Party. This is the furthest from the TRUTH.

In most elections it is about Ousting the Incumbent Govt. In 2014 The People of India gave the UPA II Congress Party the Boot which resulted in BJP victory.

Donald Trump became President of USA only because Americans voted against Hillary Clinton and are paying the price for it since.

If AAP won the Delhi elections today it is because people Voted against both the Congress and the BJP Parties. Not because  everyone is an AAP Supporter.

At an election you either choose your favourite to vote for but majority of voters have to choose the best of all the evils contesting a seat. This is what happened in Delhi today.

People vote more to get rid of the bad and useless govts as most often the opposition is an unknown entity.

What happened to Modi (Not BJP) in 2020 is anybody's guess.

POWER CORRUPTS -

"ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY" - Lord Acton

Absolute Power led To Modi Govts actions that has driven many a wedge between Indians in General. We all know what these are.

Whether the actions taken by the Modi are right or wrong can be evaluated only at Polling Booths and Delhi Elections have produced the verdict.

The Corrupt Congress did not win one seat which shows that not all people who oppose Modi's Acts like the CAA are Blind and Corrupt Congress supporters as claimed by BJP die hards.

I definitely have every right to get annoyed when a Modi supporter tells me "You hate Modi and You hate Brahmins and you are a  Supporter of Corrupt Congress". Could not be further than the truth.

I am not a Brahmin and Modiji is not a Brahmin either, in case you have forgotten.

Majority of my friends on Whatsapp are Brahmins. I am a non-descript Hindu and my ancestors climbed coconut trees to cut the coconuts for a living. I am glad I got into IIT through merit and not Reservation so you cannot accuse me of stealing your seat.

Population Distribution of India

According to the 2011 census, 79.8% of the population of India practices Hinduism, 14.2% adheres to Islam, 2.3% adheres to Christianity, 1.7% adheres to Sikhism, and 0.7% adheres to Buddhism.

140 Crores Population

Hindus 140 x 79.8% =  111.72 crores say 112  Crores
Muslims 140 x 14.2% =  19.88 Crores  say 20 Crores
Christians 140 x 2.3% = 3.22 Crores say 3 crores
Sikhs 140x 1.7 = 2.38 Crores
Buddhists 140 x 0.7 = 0.98 crores

Dalit Population of India is 300 million or 30 Crores
Of the one billion Hindus in India, it is estimated that Hindu Forward castes comprise 26%, Other Backward Classes comprise 43%, Hindu Scheduled Castes (Dalits) comprises 22% and Hindu Scheduled Tribes (Adivasis) comprises 9%.

According to some estimates, there are 15-20 million Christian Dalits in India, while the number of Muslim Dalits may be as high as 100 million or more. Were these figures to be confirmed, the number of Dalits in India could exceed 300 million – or a quarter of the country's population of 1.2 billion people.

Break up of HINDU Population
Total Hindu Population = 112 crores
Upper Castes    = 22% = 24.64 crores
OBC                  = 52%  = 58.24 Crores
SC                     = 17%  = 19.04 crores
ST .                   =  9%    = 10.08 Crores

OBC+SC-ST =  87.36 crores

Out of a National Population of 140 crores the Upper Caste hindus are just 25 crores minority facing the wrath of 115 Cores of INDIANS

The Irony and a No Win Situation I face.

When I opposed UPA IIs Aadhaar, Pro Congress fellows called me an Upper Caste BJP Tam Bram considering my name is Krishnaswamy.

When BJP back flipped and pushed Aadhaar breaking their promise and I objected BJP Supporters called me a Congress stooge.

A No win situation and I am nobodys stooge.

I follow my Dads advice. He taught me if someone slaps you slap him back twice as hard and none of this show the other cheek business.

Be a Good Man to a Good Man and a bad man to a bad man.

I am a Proud AAP Supporter for all the Right Reasons

Three Cheers to Delhi People for voting with their Hearts and re-electing AAP with a HUMONGOUS MAJORITY. Delhiites believed in Aam Aadmi Party than Corrupt Congress or BJP promoting Hindu Rashtra by evoking Hatred, Polarising and Dividing the Nation and turning friends against friends, with Modi Bhakts Lapping it up and Constantly provoking the silent majority of Good Hindus..

Well the Tables are well and Truly turned against BJP rule which is evident to all except the BLIND BJP Supporters and Religious Fanatics.

BJP is still struggling to understand why they got dumped and all they can do is accuse the Congress of Treachery... What BJP supporters do not know is that AAP used several WMDS to Combat Modis BJP...

Let me see if You can Guess AAP's WMD ( Weapons of Mass Destruction.) Three Guesses allowed before I can share these Secrets with You.

Whether you like it or Not I am Proud that finally IIT Alumni have ventured into Politics to taken India Forward. My Prayer is that AAP should become a National Party and we need a lot of Gifted, Educated, Committed and Talented people who are only interested in Serving MOTHER INDIA and not their Gods. Saathae Haath Badana Folks. Ek Akela Thak Jaayega Mil Kar Bhoj Utana..Truth Triumphs.

Satyameva Jayatae.
Ram Krish Sydney...
aka Rambo Aus

Yes I am a HINDU at Heart too and am an IITM Alumnus Too. and have worked with Arvind Kejriwal and Somnath Bharti during the Jan Lok Pal Movement and am extremely Proud of what they have achieved. They are human too and are fallible playing politics but they are GOOD MEN.

Hear from You soon. Does not matter where you are if you are an Indian at Heart stand up where you are and SHOUT. "Bharata Mata Ki Jay" God Bless you for doing that. (Or at least say it aloud in Your heart and help fight injustices.

Here is AAPs WMD in Case you did not know:

Atishi Marlena is a Rhodes scholar, an AAP party leader  and her work in transforming Delhi’s school education was one of the main reasons why AAP has had a resounding victory for 3rd consecutive time in Delhi state elections.

Her education model is now a UN best practice model across many countries.

Extremely impressive personality and completely down to earth. India needs thousands of such committed and visionary leaders.

FINALLY THE BOTTOM LINE IS GOOD EDUCATION  ......
IT DEFINITELY MATTERS IN ALL SPHERES OF LIFE .....
INCLUDING LEADERSHIP 🙏
