212 - How our Immune System Fights Infections,

Human Immune system explained

The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infection.

The immune system keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognise and destroy the microbe quickly if it enters the body again.

Abnormalities of the immune system can lead to allergic diseases, immunodeficiencies and autoimmune disorders.

Your white blood cells lock on to the germs in order to absorb or destroy them. They have antibodies that latch onto the germs. Experience makes your immune system stronger.

I am sure you will not believe it if I say, the white cells in our body actually chases the bacteria that has entered the blood stream, surrounds it, over powers the bacteria and kills it.

Now watch the following video and you will remember this for the rest of your life.

Video shows images captured through a microscope of a human white blood cell chasing a bacterium. It is pretty much like a Police Car chasing Bandits in a stolen car.

The Human Body is such a Marvellous Piece of Engineering for sure

Now, Don't ask me how the body fights Viruses like Covid as I do not know myself. If you know you can tell me.

Cheers
