039 - My Parents Words of Wisdom,

  1. My Father always told me to " Be a Good Man to a Good Man and a Bad Man to a Bad Man" and " if some one slaps you don't show the other cheek as you are not Jesus Christ. Slap them back twice as hard so they will not dare again.
My Father died young so did not have too much time with him as a Child but every thing that is ingrained into me is from my Amma. There are so many classics that I remember all the time

  1. She always said "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are". This is so true as we can judge people by the friends they keep.
  2. "All of us have to Sleep in the bed we make" and "We reap what we Sow" and "What Comes Around Goes around".  All of these mean the same in fact.
  3. "Remember we are born with empty hands and go with empty hands, so nothing in this world belongs to us, animate or inanimate"
  4. "How much land does a Man need" by Leo Tolstoy is something I can never forget.
  5. My mother made me read "Eric or Lilttle by Little" when i was in 6th Standard at St Bedes High school to prove one can be good but can slip into bad ways over time if not careful.
  6. When you are feeling a bit down my mother told me to think of all the people around me who are worse off, thank your luck you are not in their shoes and that will help you get up and get out from feeling down.
  7. When you find some one is not genuine and not your well wisher, just ignore them turn your back and walk away. dont waste your precious time with them.
  8. "Eat to Live but Live Not to Eat" was my mothers favourite
  9. Everything you do in life must be done in moderation...Nevr let anything become an Obsession- She said.
  10. "One Thing at a Time and That done Well is a Very Good Thing as Many can Tell"
  11. Kalavum Kattru Mara
