The Australian PM who copped it badly from the people for not doing enough to deal with the Australian Bush Fires acted promptly in addressing the Corona Pandemic. We as a Nation have to salute him and his ministers for what has been done despite lapses like allowing 2500 passengers from cruise ship Ruby Rose disembark in Sydney. A few heads will roll soon I presume.
The other important factor that has helped Australia and nobody is talking about is the very small population in a massive Continent, three times the size of India with a population of 1.3 Billion and USA with 350 million people.
Now a Prof of Epidemiology Dr. Tony Bakely from Melbourne University Prof. Murphy is suggesting three ways to end the epidemic.
1 - ELIMINATE THE VIRUS
2 - SQUASH THE CURVE
3 - FLATTENING THE CURVE TO HERD IMMUNITY
In my opinion, we cannot eliminate the virus until we find a Vaccine, we cannot squash the curve without extended Lockdowns and Flattening the Curve to gain Herd Immunity is Totally flawed suggestions.

How many strains of Corona Virus have been identified todate
On 5th March we are told there are two strains.Reports on March 30th says there are 8 different strains of Corona Virus. Another article says there are total of 16 strains identified but eight of them are benign.
Now ask yourself the question: is it really possible 60% of Australians which is 15 million people to develop Herd immunity to eight different Strains without a new vaccine for each dream?
We just have to look at UK PM Boris Jhonson's decision not to lock down and hope people develop herd immunity. tragically flawed decision that Australia Cannot afford to make
