223 - FAKE LETTER TO PM MODI GETS ENDORSED BY DGP

The Following Article has been proved to be Fake News, yet it is interesting to read what Julio Rebeiro had to say about this Fake News in his name

Fake New as Received on Whatsapp:

Views of former DGP of Punjab and a well reputed IPS officer of the country.

JULIUS REBEIRO IPS (RETD)
(FORMER DGP Maharashtra)

As a citizen of the country I felt it has to be conveyed to them.

Modi ji, there is no point in shouting standing on a stage and asking the question that what is achieved in the last 60 years. Don't think that the citizens of our country are fools.

You are the Prime Minister of a country , which was under the British rule for more than 300 years. The people were living just like slaves. Congress came to power in 1947 after independence and has started with zero. There was nothing in this country except the garbage left out by the British. India didn't even have the resources to produce even a pin since Britishers left India.

The electricity was available only for 20 villages across the country. Telephone facility was available only for 20 rulers (kings) in this country. There was no drinking water supply. There were only 10 small dams. No hospitals, no educational institutions, No fertilisers, no feed, no water supply for cultivation. There was no job & only starvation in the country. There were many infant deaths. Very few military staff in the border. Only 4 planes, 20 tankers & fully open borders on all 4 sides of the country. Very minimum roads & bridges. Empty exchequer.

Nehru came to power in these circumstances.

What is India after 60 years ?

World's largest army. Thousands of war planes, tankers. Lakhs of industrial institutions. Electricity in all villages. Hundreds of electric power stations. Lakhs kilometre of national highways & over bridges. New railway projects, Stadiums, super speciality hospitals, most of the Indian households with television, telephone for all the countrymen. All infrastructure to work in and outside the country, Banks, Universities, AIIMS, IITs, IIMs, Nuclear weapons, sub-marines, nuclear stations, ISRO, Navarathna Public sector units.

Indian Army barging till Lahore years back... Split Pakistan into 2 pieces . 1 lakh of military & commanders of Pakistan surrendered to Indian army .

India started exporting minerals & food items . Bank nationalisation by Mrs. Indira Gandhi . Computers introduced to India & many job opportunities in India and outside the country .

You have become PM using information technology.

When you took over as the PM, India was the top 10 economies in the world . Apart from this, GSLV, Mangalyan, Monorail, Metro rail, International airports, Prithvi, Agni, Naag, Nuclear submarines.... all these were achieved well before you became PM.

Please do not come to people shouting and asking what congress has achieved in 60 years.

Please tell people what you have achieved in the last 6 ½ years , except changing names, doing statue and cow politics, failed demonetisation, poorly executed GST, and making people stand in long queues. Hypocrite BJPians opposed FDI like anything and now BJP is supporting FDI shamelessly..

BJP is selling India to Ambani and Rafale deal to Anil Ambani's 2-month old company over HAL owned by government of India is a prime example of it..

BJP made petrol, diesel, and LPG price go up by putting more tax, while the price of crude oil became cheaper..

Modi government has through SBI in the form of fine collected whopping Rs 1771 crore for not able to maintain minimum balance from the poor people of India.

Vikas is happening for Amit Shah's son , Shaurya Doval, Ambanis, Adani, baba Ramdev's Patanjali group, and the people who sponsor BJP..

3000 crores have been spent by BJP to clean river Ganga, the corruption of which , each and everyone can find out by taking a dip in river Ganga..

PS: This is not an advertisement for the congress campaign. I’m not a congress supporter. I’m just an informed voter who feels it is an insult to his intelligence each time the current government says our country has been no good over the last 60 years!

DIGNITY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE

The fake news is correct: Constant tall claims by BJP detract from the positives of the government

Written by Julio Ribeiro |

I became in a manner of speaking, the victim of “fake news”, which was factually correct. (Representational)

I was taken aback, a few days ago, when the staff in my office showed me a WhatsApp forward or “post” written by “Julius Rebeiro”, chiding Mr Modi very gently for repeatedly saying that for 60 years the Congress party and the Gandhi family had done nothing for the country, and, it was the BJP and Narendra Modi, in particular, that had achieved all that the people aspired for!

Besides my name being misspelt, the post had described me as the retired director general of police, Maharashtra. I was commissioner of police, Mumbai, and DGP Gujarat for four months. I was also DGP Punjab for two years, but not DGP Maharashtra. The post seemed to have been widely shared, including with my daughters who were not amused by the grammatical errors written in my name. Despite this, however, the writer, whoever he is, made many people believe that it was Julio Ribeiro who had written the post.

In fact, I was amazed at the number of people who met me in the last three days to congratulate me on speaking out for what was they believed was right and correct. They were a trifle disappointed to learn that I was not the author of the post.

Regardless, I assured them that I largely agreed with the contents of the post. In fact, I thought that the writer had comprehensively rebutted Modi’s oft-repeated insinuations that the Congress and the Gandhis were not at all interested in the development of the country but were only interested in their personal fortunes.

It is true that Modi’s government has accelerated the development agenda in many spheres and has done a lot of good work that could have been done earlier. But it is not true that the earlier governments, including that of Morarji Desai (incidentally my father’s classmate in Wilson College), had nothing to show the people.

So I became in a manner of speaking, the victim of “fake news”, which was factually correct. The writer’s opinion was shared by me and many other right-thinking people.

When India gained Independence in 1947, I was in college, and I have seen the country progress since then. Modi’s assertion that there was no progress in 60 years is simply not true.

Modi is right when he says that all villages in India have been successfully electrified under his reign, but he has forgotten to tell the people that the work to that effect had started much earlier — that 85 per cent or more was completed before he took over and that the remaining 15 per cent was done during his time, in the course of natural progression. Modi boasts about the provision of toilets in each village of the country but open defecation continues because of the acute scarcity of water to flush the toilets.

I am the chairman of an NGO which has taken on the task of improving the quality of life of the people living around Rajgurunagar in Khed taluka of Pune district. Electricity is available for not more than two hours a day, prompting my NGO to provide inverters and solar panels to the 150-odd schools in the taluka so that e-learning — which depends on computers — is not suddenly interrupted. And, toilet blocks are being used by individual houses to store excess baggage for the simple reason that they cannot be used without water.

These are practical difficulties for which Modi cannot be blamed. His intentions are good and he certainly is working overtime to see a better India emerge. I also admire the fact that there are many senior leaders in his party who are similarly fired with true nationalist fervour to ensure that their work benefits the people. But their constant chest thumping and exaggerations are becoming embarrassments. They are taking the form of “fake news” which is something that people are beginning to see through.

For instance, the Balakot attack was one bold decision taken by a bold leader to cross the LoC and strike at the terror camps. It would have reaped electoral dividends for the BJP. But the unnecessary exaggerations regarding the number of people killed and the bringing down of an F-16, which has not been really proved, has greatly detracted from the good professional work done by the Indian Air Force. In my opinion, therefore, it is becoming counter-productive.

The writer, a retired IPS officer, was Mumbai police commissioner, DGP Gujarat and DGP Punjab

My Comment as Follows:

Personally I don't belong to any Political Party either and I was born in 1946 in Port Blair Andamans even before Modiji, just after WW II and was 8 months old when India won its Independence on 15th August 1947. As a six year old, on Independence Day Celebration I was wearing full whites and wearing a Gandhi Cap and the school headmistress chose me to Place Flowers at the large floral  Map of Independent India and Bharatamata statue. Was a Very Proud Moment for me.

I can remember the City of Madras in 1953 and I can see what it is today in 2021.

Of course for the Congress Party governance was a learning curve and they did make mistakes. New Independent India was like a "Paper Boat in a Mighty Ocean" and the paper Boat is still afloat and we have to Salute the Congress for that. Yes we the people of India, especially Seniors like me cannot forget the Licence Raj nor can we forget the extent of corruption in India with an inept Congress PM ManMohan Singh.

Please remember the People of India Voted Corrupt Congress OUT and NOT Voted BJP IN. BJP was the Only Alternative Available to Voters in India. BJP today is not what it was under Honourable PM Vajpayee, who to me was a Neta of the Highest Order.

BJP under Modi has undermined the very foundations that made "India the Largest Democracy and  a Major Global Economy"

BJP should remember that History Repeats itself and there is a Tsunami of Anti Modi Sentiments in the Nation.

My Note to BJP and BJP Supporters
"You Can fool some people All the time and All the people Sometimes, but cannot Fool All Indians All the Time." Time will Tell

My Request to Modiji's supporters "Don't tell me I am an NRI meaning "Not Really Indian" as I have heard this before. I too was elated to see UPA II dumped by the people of India and Modiji elected as PM and was there at Acer Arena in Sydney wearing a Modi T Shirt welcoming a new Corruption Free India.

1.3 Billion People are waking up to the Reality in India. Modiji is being misled by his Bhakts unfortunately. There is still time for Modiji to make amends before the next elections.
