WHY FRIENDS IN SYDNEY CALLED ME RAMBO.
Did you know that from 1980 to 1990 I worked for a multinational Noise Control Company called Sound Attenuators as their Acoustics Engineer. At age 44. I had the middle age crisis and wanted to do it all by myself. Was tired of Bosses who were pushy but had no vision.
So in 1990 I joined my Italian Subcontractor Roy Mamone and established ENCO- Environmental Noise Control Pty Ltd. Roy was a top notch sheet metal manufacturer of very high reputation and I was very good at custom designing Noise Control Products, sales and marketing of noise control products in Sydney.
We were a formidable force and within 12 months ENCOs flag was flying high and ENCO won an Australian Design Award and Excellence in Acoustics Award from the Australian Acoustical Society.
Around 1986 when I met Roy for the first time his Mother said, my son is Roy and we call him Rocky at home and we will call you Ram as Rambo.
So I was Rambo to every one at ENCO. Every morning 40 workers said hi Rambo or good morning Rambo.
Thanks to Roy's mother the Rambo name stuck and still continues to this day when friends say Hi Rambo on Whatsapp.
